Located in Lynden, Washington, the hub of the agriculture community in Whatcom County, Scholten's Equipment is one of four major agriculture equipment dealers in an estimated 20 million dollar total local market. We also have a second location in Burlington, WA as a part of Skagit County. Scholtens has a substantial market built up in the rest of Washington, Oregon and British Columbia, Canada.

Started by Duane and Arlene Scholten in 1980 with a single employee, Scholten's began buying and selling used equipment out of the Midwest, the company was incorporated in 1984. Scholten's Equipment is an authorized dealer of Kubota, CLAAS, JCB, Trioliet, Jamesway, JBS, Massey Ferguson/AGCO (hay & forage only), Kawasaki, Agco Hesston, Landpride, Rankin, Haybuster, and Westendorf.

Scholten's Equipment has been very aggressive and successful in pioneering relatively unknown ideas and new lines such as self-propelled forage harvesters, Kemper heads, Haybuster, Ty-Crop and JCB. Duane Scholten has cultivated many connections to the Midwest over the years. These connections have allowed Scholten's to become a leader in buying late model John Deere equipment from the Midwest, and transporting it to the west coast.

Order buying of the late model John Deere equipment from the Midwest is still a major niche. A lot of repeat business is done over the phone. Duane Scholten is a "hands on" owner, keeping close contact with all employees. Duanes "hands on" approach has also led him to become personally acquainted with almost every customer. Still a young and aggressive company, Scholten's Equipment has come a long way in 27 years and is still growing.

In 1994, Scholten's Equipment became employee owned, as five long time employees invested into the company, to help stimulate employee involvement. Duane has always sought to create a work environment where hard work and positive attitude are handsomely rewarded.

Today, Scholten's Equipment is headquartered on an 25 acre facility with a 14,000 square foot shop and showroom. Scholten's Equipment employs 40+ people. A second store in Burlington Washington was opened in 1994. Scholten's success can be attributed to low employee turnover, very dedicated personnel, and close attention to customer needs. Scholten's Equipment is conveniently located near the areas of Ferndale, Everson and Bellingham.
